Why Drink More Water On the Job

The value of water is often underestimated in our daily lives. It can be assumed that the average person does not drink the recommended 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. Drinking the recommended amount of water keeps us going at an optimum rate. Imagine if you’re not drinking enough water right now and how that might be impacting your performance.

Water is essential for brain function, strength and performance. If you find you are thirsty it is already too late, you are already dehydrated. Symptoms of dehydration can include headache, being tired, lack of strength and more. To improve your function during your day to day activity, simply drinking more water. For so many, that requires planning to have that water available throughout the day whether you pack a water bottle or you start off the day with two glasses, at lunch, and when you get home, you already have a better start just staying hydrated.

If your job requires you to work outside in the sun, inside in a high humidity, high temperature space or requires extensive physical labor, you will become dehydrated much more quickly vs someone who works at a desk. Simply by sweating and using energy you loose more water. Planning to stay hydrated, drinking more water, taking breaks, and keeping your body temperature down are all necessary to stay safe on the job and beat the heat! Check out our other blog and below we’ve identified a few of our favorite travel waterbottles to help you consume the right amount of water.

Don’t forget if you’re using more energy that means you need more than 8 to 10 glasses of water a day…. drink up!
